Sue Dowell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Rich Smythe and Lois Dillon Blair Smythe was born on May 6, 1941 in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 5:18 P.M., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Elizabethtown. Sue was 81 years old. Sue loudly confessed her faith in Christ and was a member of Kellyville Community Church. Sue was a businesswoman, known to be stylish, elegant and classy. She was also known for her amazing cooking, with the main ingredient being love. Sue was nurturing and devoted to her friends and family. Sue was united in marriage to Tommy Dowell, on November 11, 1959, who preceded her in death on November 4, 2010. They had two children, Tommy (Jr.) and Debbie. Sue is survived by her son and daughter: Tommy Dowell of Campbellsville and Debbie Richdale and husband, Bradford of Austin Texas; three grandchildren: Andrew Richdale of San Francisco, California, Derek Richdale and wife, Juliet of San Diego, California, and Rachael Dowell and Chris Bashum of Bowling Green; four great-grandchildren: Gabriel Bashum, Axel Bashum, Abbie Richdale, and Nora Richdale; one sister, Bobbie McKinney; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
