Nellie Bland Campbell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clarence Bland and Mary Catherine “Katie” Claycomb Bland, was born May 21, 1928 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 91 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, taught children and youth Sunday School classes and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Group. She also was a former member of the Walnut Grove Homemakers and enjoyed her Bunko Group. Nellie was truly a homemaker; she hand quilted hundreds of beautifully detailed quilts of all sizes, spent many hours making wedding and prom dresses and suits for her family and window dressing for others. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She united in marriage to James Harvey Campbell June 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death December 14, 1984. She is survived by one son and one daughter: Steve Campbell and wife, Sue and Brenda Parsons of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Brandon Parsons and wife, Miranda of Campbellsville, Tyler Parsons and wife, Beth of Bowling Green, Shana Hamblin and husband, Mike of Campbellsville and Sondra Burress and her friend, Chad Gribbins and his two daughters, Haley Gribbins and Makenzie Gribbins of Campbellsville; ten great-grandchildren: Chloe Elizabeth Parsons, Caden Tyler Parsons, David Campbell Parsons, Jilly Burress, Lilly Burress, Lukas Burress, Hayley Burress, Rebekah Campbell Bolin, Ayden Hamblin and Jacob Hamblin; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Harry Bland, James Bland, Robert Bland, Elizabeth Neal and Mary Absher and a son-in-law, David Parsons.
