Naomi Benningfield of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Johnie Page and Nettie Karnes Page, was born June 15, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 2:48 A.M., Friday, July 3, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 87 She professed faith in Christ and was the oldest living member of Spurlington United Methodist Church where she was very active with the Methodist Women. She retired as lunchroom manager with Taylor County School System after 29 years. She was also a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in addition to supporting her husband in the family farm operation. She has been referred to as a “mother to many, a friend to all”. She united in marriage to Lyndon Benningfield January 19, 1951 and he preceded her in death June 10, 2015. Naomi is survived by one son and one daughter: Roger Benningfield and wife, Patti of Campbellsville and Peggy Slone and husband, Andy of Lexington; one daughter-in-law, Donna Benningfield of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Jennifer Kaye Benningfield, Ryan Adam Benningfield, Derek Benningfield and wife, Jamie, Lindsey Gordon and husband, Adam, Aaron Slone and wife, Ajjea and Brittany Slone; six great-grandchildren: Aesen, Leah and Kaden Gordon, Preston and Anders Slone and Kelsea Murphy; one brother and one sister: Richard Page and wife, Brenda of Campbellsville and Mayme Gilbert of Greenwood, Indiana; two sisters-in-law: Janice Thompson of ElkHorn and Doris Jean Newton of Campbellsville; two caregivers: Delores Newton and Dellen Shabazz; a special friend, Brenda Arbuckle; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Benningfield June 25, 2011.
