Mary Etta Sapp Dudgeon of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Floyd Sapp and Cleo Cave Sapp, was born May 13, 1933, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:40 P.M., Monday, June 18, 2018 at the age of 85. She professed faith in Christ as a young girl and followed her faith for Christ through her life. She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Mary Etta was an employee of the Taylor County Clerk’s Office for some twenty-three years, a member of the Taylor Republican Women’s Club for many years and a long-time proprietor of Sapp’s Lake in Merrimac, Kentucky. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved everyone deeply. She united in marriage to Donald A. Dudgeon June 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death June 8, 2012. She is survived by one son and two daughters: Allen Dudgeon, Donna Hayes and husband, David and Henrietta Barnett and husband, Steve of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Dana Hayes Fuller and husband, Ches of Lexington, Drew Allen Hayes and wife, Sarah and Clay Evan Barnett of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Clara Grace Fuller, Eli Chesley Fuller, Anniston Hayes and an expected great-granddaughter; one nephew, Barry Sapp of Louisville; special caregiver and friend, Nettie Cox of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Sapp and two brothers in infancy.
