Marilyn (Pat) Joan Hennessee Perkins was born on September 21st, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William F. and Florence I. Hennessee. She passed from this life on Monday, September 26th, 2022 at her son’s home in Athens, Alabama. She was 91 years old. She was married to the love of her life, James R. Perkins, for 56 years when he passed in 2003. She was baptized into Christ in Greasy Creek during a Gospel Meeting, and served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Green County High School. After raising her children she worked 6 years in the cafeteria at Taylor County High School, a job that she loved. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Homemakers club, an outstanding cook, and supportive of all of her children’s endeavors. She is survived by one daughter, Patty Reynolds (Steven) of Campbellsville, Kentucky and three sons: Kenny Perkins (Dian) of Franklin, Kentucky, Jim Perkins (Denise) of Georgetown, Kentucky and Bill Perkins (Elayne) of Athens, Alabama. She has eight grandsons and three granddaughters; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a great many friends in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
