Lula Mae Cave

Lula Mae Cave of Campbellsville, daughter of the late George Richard Phillips and Louise Brown Phillips, was born May 4, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She passed on to her eternal heavenly home at 8:05 A.M., Thursday, October 17, 2019 in Lexington following a short illness.  She was 81. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Lula Mae taught children’s and adult Sunday School Classes and Vacation Bible School for over forty years. She was also active in WMU and other adult ministries.  She retired from Campbellsville Independent Schools where she touched many more children’s lives as a teacher’s aide. Lula Mae was a devoted mother. She put her own educational pursuits on hold until both sons had completed their undergraduate degrees, at which point she continued her education and proudly earned a bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University.   Lula Mae united in marriage to Albert Lynwood “Sonny” Cave on August 19, 1956.  He preceded her in death on February 3, 2012. She is survived by two sons:  Stan Cave and wife, Carol of Nicholasville, and Phillip Cave and wife, Krista of Lexington; five grandchildren: Meredith Cave Moran and husband, Corey of Lexington, Callen Marie Farr and husband, Houston of Kettering, Ohio, Luke Weston Cave, Anna Noelle Cave, and Joshua Bennett Cave of Lexington; one brother and one sister:  George McGee Phillips and wife, Phyllis and Mary Lynn Benz; a sister-in-law, Pat Phillips Rogers, all of Campbellsville; a sister-in-law, Vicki Cave Mullins of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.  Lula Mae was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Brown Phillips. ___________ VISITATION:  5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home FUNERAL SERVICE:   2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Dr. James E.
