Kelsay “Bug” Barnes of Campbellsville, son of the late George Leslie Barnes and Nora Anne Pendleton Barnes, was born October 19, 1928 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:10 P.M., Monday, March 2, 2020 in Hodgenville. Age: 91 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for several years. Kelsay was a retired co-owner of B & B Used Trucks and B & W Auto Sales. He united in marriage to Thelma Nelson March 11, 1950. Bug’s family considered him the “best daddy in the world”. He was always friendly and loved cutting up with people and enjoyed the children at church, always kept gum in his pocket for them. Bug also enjoyed pitching horseshoes and won many horseshoe tournaments. He had taught all of his children to drive and even some of his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Thelma Nelson Barnes of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Larry Barnes and wife, Connie and Ricky Barnes of Campbellsville and Jane Underwood and husband, Dennis of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren: Kevin Jones, Jason Jones, Slade Barnes, Mandy Cox, Dustin Barnes and Tyler Barnes; thirteen great-grandchildren: Tanner Barnes, Lauren Barnes, Rhett Cox, Riley Cox, Nolan Barnes, Owen Barnes, Jackson Barnes, Dalton Barnes, Jasper Eli Barnes, Alex Jones, Ethan Jones, Shelby Jones and Jaxon Jones; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Libby Cox Barnes and six brothers and six sisters: Leonard Barnes, Ivan Barnes, Garnett Barnes, Charlie Barnes, Bill Barnes, Evan Barnes, Berdie Rohe, Mae Cox, Ruby Jones, Goldie Sanders, Elsie Read, Mary Gilpin and a brother in infancy, John Owen Barnes. _____________ VISITATION: 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev.
