John Edwin Mascarenas of Campbellsville, son of the late David Mascarenas and Anita Smith Mascarenas, was born April 5, 1944, in Penasco, New Mexico. He died at 8:20 P.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Louisville. Age: 75 He was of the Catholic faith and he served his country honorably for twenty-one years in the United States Army. John was also a retired employee of the United States Postal Service. He was a member of many different American Legion posts across the United States, was an avid bowler and was a very caring person who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He united in marriage to Carmelita Howard August 5, 1980. Besides his wife, Carmelita Mascarenas of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and three daughters: Robert N. Caffee and wife, Amanda, John R. Mascarenas and wife, Cindy, Genevieve Caffee and significant other, Tim McCarol and Madelyn Wise and husband, Matthew of Campbellsville, Nathan J. Mascarenas and wife, Kimberly of Fountain, Colorado and Rachel Fox and husband, Sheldon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sixteen grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; one brother, Wilbert Pete Mascarenas and wife, Louella of Cerritos, California; two brothers-in-law: Allen Johnson and wife, Angie of Campbellsville and Lowell Howard and wife, Linda of Kissimee, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
