Jimmy “Boney” Karnes of Campbellsville, son of the late Walter Karnes and Katherine Martin Wright, was born October 25, 1944, in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 8:00 A.M., Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age 73 Boney was self-employed as a painter and hung and finished drywall. He was a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 and The American Legion. In his past time, he would listen to country music and was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. Boney also loved to swim in the Green River Lake and while there, had rescued at least two children. He united in marriage to Karen Smith August 4, 1984. Besides his wife, Karen Karnes of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and two daughters: Bryan Karnes and wife, Belinda of Stanford, Joey Karnes and fiancée, Erica Furmon and Kelly Parker of Lebanon, Steven Parker of Campbellsville and Lisa Karnes of Greensburg; twelve grandchildren: Quashawn Furmon and Kennesha Furmon of Lebanon, Blake Coffman, Tyler Karnes, Devan Karnes, Hanna Karnes, Jessica Joseph and Jayme Karnes of Danville, Savanah Parker, Sammy Parker and Emilie Isabelle of Campbellsville and Xavier Furmon of Lebanon; four great-grandchildren: Hunter Joseph and Isabella Joseph of Danville and MaKhila Miller and ZaNyila Blake of Lebanon; five brothers: Darrell Karnes, John Walter Karnes and Brian Karnes and wife, Tasha of Campbellsville, David Karnes of Dallas, Texas and Roger Karnes of Skowhegan, Maine; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
