James Edward Wayne of Campbellsville, son of the late Benjamin Turner Wayne and Annie Mae Deener Wayne, was born December 23, 1934 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:52 A.M., Monday, July 27, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 85 James accepted Christ as a young child and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard out of high school. He was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in his tobacco crop and growing watermelons for his family and workers. James was very active in Farm Bureau and served on the board for many years. James united in marriage to Lucy Watkins June 15, 1958 and she preceded him in death December 23, 2019. He is survived by one son and one daughter: Randy Wayne and wife, Sharon of Campbellsville and Patty Price and husband, Randall of Flowery Branch, Georgia; five grandchildren: Daniel Wayne and wife, Hope and David Wayne and wife, Lindsay of Campbellsville, Ashley Cole and husband, Doug of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Amanda Welton and husband, Tyler of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee and Abigail Logan and husband, Trey of Atlanta, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren: Liam Cole, Lucas Cole, Canon Welton, Lucy May Wayne, Luke Wayne, Lyric Welton, Emma Welton, Robbie Scanlon and wife, Sharon and Adalyn Wayne; three great-great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Brantley and Johnathon Scanlon; one sister, Marjorie Sheets of Perryville; and many other relatives and friends.
