J. T. Beard

J.T. Beard of Campbellsville, son of the late Dennis Beard and Ida Mary Rice Beard, was born April 9, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:56 A.M., Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Lexington. Age: 87 He professed faith in Christ, was of the Baptist faith and also enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed being outdoors and loved gardening and fishing. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country honorably in the United States Navy. J.T. was a retired supervisor with Tennessee Gas Transmission. He united in marriage to Melva Wethington December 6, 1957. Besides his wife, Melva Beard, he is survived by three sons and one daughter: Scott Beard and wife, Gayle of Campbellsville, Bernie Beard and wife, Tina of Plantersville, Texas, Jeff Beard of West Virginia and Janie Hlavinka and husband, Brian of East Bernard, Texas; seven grandchildren: Amanda Beard, Blair Beard Burress, Shelby Beard, Nathan Hlavinka, Andrew Hlavinka, Joshua Hlavinka and Ethan Hlavinka; four great grandchildren: Aiden Zuniga, Layla Zuniga, Boe Burress and Jason Burress; one brother, Jimmy Beard of Campbellsville and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
