Gerald Hodges “Hodge” Skaggs of Campbellsville, son of the late Ernest Hamilton Skaggs and Annie Elizabeth Matherly Skaggs was born November 26, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 9:30 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 88 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Hodge retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after some forty years of service. He loved the outdoors and could often be found wading, fishing or hunting wild mushrooms when he was not spending time with his grandchildren and the rest of his family. Hodge united in marriage to Dimple Sallee June 28, 1958 and she preceded him in death May 12, 1992. He is survived by one daughter, Cindy Doss of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Andrea Smith Finn and husband, Jordan, Jackie Smith and Chelsey Doss Thompson of Campbellsville, Thomas Smith and wife, Chanelle of Louisville and Katie Doss Evans and husband, Dalen of Hendersonville, Tennessee; thirteen great-grandchildren: Kylee Cox, Evan Finn, Carson Smith, Camden Finn, Layne Fisher, Parker Hamilton, Owen Thompson, Kadynn Smith, Ella Ferguson, Willa Thompson, Dansby Thompson, Nash Evans and Merritt Smith; a special friend, Betty Myers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
