Fred Logan Waddle

Fred Logan Waddle of Campbellsville, son of the late James William Waddle and Betty Newell Waddle, was born September 7, 1937 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.   He died at 5:00 A.M., Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Campbellsville.   Age:  81 He professed faith in Christ, was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Fred was a retired teacher, principal, athletic director and head coach of boy’s basketball, boy’s and girl’s track, boy’s cross country, and boy’s and girl’s golf at Taylor County High School. He was inducted into the Fifth Region Basketball Hall of Fame and the Kentucky Boy’s Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. His basketball teams won four regional championships.  Fred also was former Taylor County Judge Executive and was president of the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association. He was a member of Honorable Order Of Kentucky Colonels. He united in marriage to Shirley Caulk Waddle March 24, 1956 and she preceded him in death January 20, 2017. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill Edwards of Campbellsville; one grandson, Logan Edwards of Louisville; one brother, Edwin “Eddie” Waddle of Chattanooga, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
