Eva M. Stillwell Hord

July 21, 1952 — January 25, 2025

Campbellsville

Eva M. Stillwell-Hord was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a true friend to so many. After retiring, she devoted her last several years living in Rocky Top, Tennessee enjoying treasured time with her daughter, son, grandson and great-granddaughter. Born to the late Henry and Aileen Brewer-Stillwell in Buffalo, Kentucky on July 21, 1952. She passed away January 27, 2025, at the age of 72, peacefully surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Eva was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Campbellsville, KY. Every moment of Eva’s life was designated with love, strength and honesty with a commitment to her family and faith. Her life was a testament to the strength and unity of family.

Eva graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Taylor County High School and Summa Cum Laude from Campbellsville College. Eva lived her life between Kentucky and Tennessee for many years. She was a very diligent worker including Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY, Supervisor at Team Apparel in Huntsville, TN and at Toyota in Lebanon, KY. Eva had a magnetic personality and found immense pleasure in the simple joys of life. She enjoyed spending time with her cats and grand-pups. She also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, growing flowers, shopping, watching movies and was an expert at canning and cooking from the bounties of her garden. She was immensely talented seamstress and an avid UK and UT Fan.

In addition to her dear parents she was preceded in death by her sisters,

Ruby Thompson, Joyce Hensley, and Doris Lawson and nephew Davy Lawson.

Eva is survived by her cherished ones – daughter, Tina Hord-Leinart (Donnie) of Rocky Top, TN; son, Travis Hord; grandson, Gage Hord (Macayla); and great-granddaughter, Emerie Sage Hord, all of Oneida, TN; brother, Henry Stillwell (Sheila) of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and dear friend, Pam Noel, of Campbellville, Ky who was like a sister to her. She is also survived by the father of her children, Larry Hord, of Campbellsville, Ky. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Each person will carry her loving spirit and memories into the future.

As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life well lived to a lady that treasured all of her family, friends, and relatives left behind.

A very special thank you to all of the caring staff and friends who grew to love her and became family to her from Methodist Medical Center, Thompson Cancer Survival Center, and Covenant Hospice Care for their compassion and support during a very difficult time. There are many people who became friends/ family over the past eight (9) months for which she loved each one. Thank you to everyone who visited her and raised her spirits.


Visitation will be at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation in Rocky Top, Tennessee (2827 TN 116, Caryville, TN 37714) on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5-7pm with a Life Celebration at 7pm with Pastor Lynn Mowery officiating.
