Cecil Gilpin of Campbellsville, son of the late Guy Gilpin and Mary Rachel Barnes Gilpin, was born December 20, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 9:20 P.M., Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Greensburg. Age: 91 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War. Cecil was a retired semi-truck driver and also operated a food truck at local events. Cecil enjoyed swapping and trading anything of value and was always on the go doing something. When he wasn’t working he would be at Druther’s talking with his friends. He united in marriage to Darlene Hunt June 28, 1975. Besides his wife, Darlene Gilpin, of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and two daughters: Gary Gilpin and wife, Christa and Barry Gilpin and wife, Stephanie of Campbellsville, Valerie Shipley and husband, Bill of Tallahassee, Florida and June Gilpin of Louisville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Suzie Roberts of Colorado and Frances Sue Bradley of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: Bertha Lou Gilpin, Nellie Smidth, Florence Ellen Gilpin, James Gilpin, R. T.
