Alice Jean Bowen Stanfield

Alice Jean Bowen Stanfield of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Rease Bowen and Alice Campbell Bowen, was born September 4, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:20 A.M., Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Lexington. Age: 86 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church. When she was able, she was an active member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class and Susan B. Loy Circle. She was an employee of Fruit of the Loom until she retired to take care of her granddaughter. They became the best of friends and spent many fun hours together. She was an avid gardener, loved being outside and spending time with her family. Her loving husband of twenty two years, Thomas O. Stanfield preceded her in death on September 22, 1974. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Stanfield Straley and husband, Jeffrey; and one granddaughter, LeAnn Stanfield Straley of Campbellsville and one sister, Marjorie Hendrickson of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers: Helen Bowen, W.A. Bowen, W.R. Bowen and twin brothers in infancy, George Alfred and Richard Lee Bowen.
