Austin Wayne Buckner of Campbellsville, son of the late Ray Buckner and Nettie Morrison Buckner,was born December 11, 1939, in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 3:49 A.M., Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 77 He professed faith in Christ at a young age and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Wayne retired from General Telephone and Electrics, and was also employed at Fruit of the Loom for several years. Wayne served his community for several years during his time with both the Fire Department and the Rescue Squad. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing with both friends and family. He united in marriage to Davetta Allen on April 14, 1961. Besides his wife, Davetta Buckner of Campbellsville he is survived by one grandson and one granddaughter: Milton Buckner of Georgetown and Paige Buckner of Midway; two great-granddaughters: Amelia Ann Buckner and Riley Paige Wilson of Midway; one sister: Ona Sidebottom and husband, Jim of Greensburg; a chosen son, Stephen Grady of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
