James "Jimmy" Sluder

James “Jimmy” Sluder of Liberty, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late John Sylvester Sluder and Lettie Cox Sluder, was born February 21, 1952 in Sandwich, Illinois. He died at 11:12 A.M., Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Liberty. Age: 64 He professed faith in Christ and raised his son in the Baptist Faith. Jimmy was a retired employee of Parker Kalon. Mr. Sluder was a self-taught guitarist and dobro player and would entertain people occasionally at the Wagon Wheel. He and his friends spent many hours enjoying each other’s musical talents in Jimmy’s building. Jimmy often liked to talk on his CB radio and was an animal lover, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandsons. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: James Anthony and Mallory Sluder of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Hunter Lake Sluder and Kaiden Anthony Sluder of Campbellsville; six sisters: Lillie Benningfield, Beechel Clark, Linda Newton and husband, Michael, Helen Claywell and husband, Gary, Jane Dudgeon and husband, David and Shirley Graybeal and husband, Roy all of Campbellsville; mother of his son, Linda Sue Sluder; his companion, Shirley DeGeer of Liberty; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends who will all miss him.
