James Shelton Raikes

James Shelton Raikes of Elk Horn, son of the late Lucian Raikes and Ella Smothers Raikes, was born December 18, 1928, in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 5:42 A.M., Monday, September 26, 2016 in Elk Horn. Age: 87 He professed faith in Christ and attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by one brother and four sisters: Bill Raikes and wife, Wilma of Bradfordsville, Ruth Rakes of Campbellsville, Helen McCarty and husband, Donald and Wanda Carpenter of Lebanon and Roberta Hourigan and husband, Eugene of Danville; special niece, Shelby Clark of Campbellsville; several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
