Herbert Caudell of Campbellsville, son of the late Oliver Caudell and Rhoda Keller Caudell, was born June 16, 1930, in Lee County, Kentucky. He died at 12:52 A.M., Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 86 He professed faith in Christ and attended Campbellsville First Church of God. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Prior to his service in the United States Air Force he served in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Ethel M. Edwards December 14, 1950. She preceded him in death April 15, 2007. He united in marriage to Lorene Benningfield November 9, 2007. Besides his wife, Lorene Caudell of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Herbert Caudell, Jr. and wife, Sharon B. of Guthrie, Oklahoma; four step-children: Gail Merritt and husband, Gary, Greg McNear and wife, Brenda and Janet McNear of Campbellsville and Alan McNear of New York, New York; three granddaughters: Melissa Munn and husband, David of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Kimberly Watson and husband, Daniel and Stephanie Caudell of Guthrie, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters: Arnold Caudell, Luther Dean Caudell and Cletta Fern Shoemaker of Beattyville, Hershel Caudell of Stanton and Carrie “Dot” Reed of Booneville; special friend, Huston Jenkins of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erica Nicole Caudell and one sister, Thelma Cooper.
