Imogene Yates

Imogene Yates of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James William Proffitt, Sr. and Melinda Fore Proffitt, was born March 22, 1930, in Knox County, Kentucky. She died at 3:37 P.M., Monday, January 25, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 85 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom Campbellsville after forty years of service. She united in marriage to Clayton Yates, who preceded her in death May 28, 2000. She is survived by one son and three daughters: Phillip Yates and wife, Chris and Norma Newton of Campbellsville, Sherry Cecil and husband, Greg of Franklin and Jewell Murray and husband, Lindsey of Georgetown; ten grandchildren: Amy Vibbert of Lexington, Jennifer Murray of North Vernon, Indiana, Michelle Fisher, Erica Wheatley and Ronnie Murray of Campbellsville, Michael Hovious of Lebanon, Chris Hovious of Louisville, Chad Haynes of Auburn, Kentucky, Paige Cecil of Franklin and Crystal Ducker of Georgetown; several great-grandchildren; one brother, J. W. Proffitt and wife, Viola of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
