Lillian Bruner Clark of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Desmon Bruner and Cornelia Sallee Bruner, was born January 22, 1931 in Shelby County, Kentucky. She died at 9:37 P.M., Thursday, December 24, 2015 in Campbellsville, at age 84.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a lifelong educator, and was still serving on the Taylor County Board of Education. She united in marriage to Dr. Robert S. Clark on December 18, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2013.
Lillian Clark’s professional participation include; Taylor County High School where she taught English and was a guidance counselor (1966-1994); Fourth District President; Kentucky Education Association; National Education Association; Retired Teachers/President; American Association of University Women President/KY Branch; The Courier Journal-Phenomenal Woman of the Year; Elected to Taylor County School Board (1994-Present); Adjunct Professor at Campbellsville University (English, Speech, English as a Second Language, Student Teacher Supervision); and Co-Authored/History of Taylor County Education.
She is survived by three daughters and one son and their spouses: Sandy Blanton and husband Larry, of Paoli, Indiana; Renee Kessler and husband Marc, of Greensburg; Beverly Manley and husband Gerald, of Waddy; and Bob Clark and wife Mary, of Campbellsville. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren, and four brothers: Clifford Bruner and wife Ginny, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Billy Bruner and wife Doris, of Brooks, Richard Bruner of Bagdad, and Kenneth Bruner of Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Buddy Bruner, Charles Bruner, Bobby Bruner, Joseph Bruner, Jean Krugland, JoAnn Small, and one great grandchild Cassius Suratt.
VISITATION: 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
