Gregory L. “Sarge” Abell of Campbellsville, son of Johnnie Lee Abell and the late Rowena Eastridge Sween, was born March 30, 1951, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 12:06 A.M., Friday, November 20, 2015 in Elizabethtown. Age: 64 He professed faith in Christ and attended Christie Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a life-long member of Disabled American Veterans. He united in marriage to Lawanna K. Willhelm June 11, 1978. Besides his wife, Lawanna K. Abell, he is survived by one son and daughter: Willie Abell and wife, Miranda and Amanda Kelley and husband, Josh; three grandchildren: Ethan Kelley, Isaac Abell and Maylee Abell, all of Campbellsville; his father, Johnnie Lee Abell and wife, Onia of Campbellsville; three brothers and three sisters: Eddie Abell and wife, Barbara of Campbellsville, Everette Abell of Virginia, Cathy Kingdollar of Campbellsville, John Abell and wife, Renee of Columbia, Brenda Callahan and husband, Mike of Campbellsville and Regena Russell and husband, Richard of Campbellsville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thelma and Harold Willhelm; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
