James Earl Roots

James Earl Roots of Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie Emmitt Roots and Nora Jane Acrey Roots, was born November 11, 1925, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 10:55 A.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Campbellsville. Age: 89 He professed faith in Christ and was a member and Deacon of Campbellsville Baptist Church for fifty-one years. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service after thirty plus years of service. He united in marriage to Opal Baumgardner June 30, 1951. Besides his wife, Opal Roots of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter, Kathy Roots Milby of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Ariel Katlyn Milby of Campbellsville and James Morgan Milby of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great-grandson, Julian Atlas Milby of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Charles Roots, William Roots, Everett Roots, Rindie Malone, Irene Maupin and Kate Roots. ____________ VISITATION: 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev.
