Margaret Jean Henderson Alvey of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Richard T. Henderson and Delia Hortense Wilcox Henderson, was born December 6, 1931, in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 9:35 P.M., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age: 82
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Clarkson Baptist Church where she was a Sunday Sunday teacher for thirty-seven years and presently, was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University and her Masters in Library Science from University of Kentucky.
She was librarian at Campbellsville University and was a retired schoolteacher from the Grayson County School System.
She united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Alvey May 26, 1973. He preceded her in death
April 28, 2012.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters: Mark Morris and wife, Melisa of Campbellsville, Donna Morris Vieira and husband, Steven of Caneyville, Michael
W. Alvey and wife, Lynne of Owensboro, Richard Lee Alvey of Big Clifty, Conrad E. Alvey
of Leitchfield and Susan Alvey of Bowling Green; four grandchildren: Valerie Dykes and husband, Seth, Natalie Jean Morris and fiancée, Jesse Walters, James Richard Alvey and William Stewart Alvey; two great-grandchildren: Colton Seth Dykes and Landon Alan Dykes; three sisters: Delia Pauline Durrett of Summersville; Shirley Ann Torjosen and husband, Harry of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Sharon Kay Tyra and husband, Ernie of Walkertown, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Robert Henderson June 7, 1986 and Donald Gray Henderson June 21, 2013.
