Earl Byron Smith of Campbellsville, son of the late Earl Thomas Smith and Bessie Orene Davis Smith, was born April 28, 1934, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:00 P.M., Thursday in Campbellsville. Age: 80 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was the former manager of Time Finance Company, former owner of Whitlock Insurance Agency, and a farmer. He united in marriage to Della Ann Whitlock June 17, 1956. Besides his wife, Della Ann Smith, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Binky Smith and wife, Rhonda of Campbellsville and Jenny Smith and husband, Dr. Scott Smith of Pikeville; eight grandchildren: Loren Smith Mattingly and husband, David of Lebanon, Logan Thomas Smith of Mayfield, Seth Earl Byron Smith of Campbellsville, Raina Hansford Simpson and husband, Dustin of Somerset, Emily Ann Cox VinZant and husband, Whitney of Kansas City, Missouri, Evan Lee Cox of Lexington, Hunter Smith of Pikeville and Max Smith of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren: Oaks Mattingly, Oliver Mattingly and Deacon Simpson; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
