Woodrow Nelson, of Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie Thomas Nelson and Laurie French Nelson Grimes was born March 10, 1931 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 11:01 P.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Lexington. Age: 83
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired roofing contractor.
He united in marriage to Doris Jean Bodkins April 27, 1963.
Besides his wife, Doris Jean Nelson, he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Loretta Morgan and husband, Randy and Joe Nelson and wife, Peggy of Campbellsville and Glenn Nelson of Louisville; nine grandchildren: Joe Nelson, Alicia Nelson, Kasey Shae Nelson, Dustin Morgan, Randy Morgan, Jr., Skyler Morgan, Timmie Nelson, Tammy Perkins, and Jackie Curtsinger; seven great-grandchildren: Layla Wilds, Addison Nelson, Braxton Morgan, Caydin Perkins, Zachary Curtsinger, Hayley Curtsinger, and Colton Curtsinger; two sisters, Jean Bell and Mary Whitlock and one sister-in-law, Opal Nelson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Hershel Nelson and Keith Nelson, four brothers and two sisters: Willard Nelson, Howard Thomas Nelson, Charles Leonard Nelson, Omer Lee Nelson, Stella Underwood, and Elizabeth Burchett.

FUNERAL: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville
