Woodrow Nelson

Woodrow Nelson, of Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie Thomas Nelson and Laurie French Nelson Grimes was born March 10, 1931 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 11:01 P.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Lexington. Age: 83 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired roofing contractor. He united in marriage to Doris Jean Bodkins April 27, 1963. Besides his wife, Doris Jean Nelson, he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Loretta Morgan and husband, Randy and Joe Nelson and wife, Peggy of Campbellsville and Glenn Nelson of Louisville; nine grandchildren: Joe Nelson, Alicia Nelson, Kasey Shae Nelson, Dustin Morgan, Randy Morgan, Jr., Skyler Morgan, Timmie Nelson, Tammy Perkins, and Jackie Curtsinger; seven great-grandchildren: Layla Wilds, Addison Nelson, Braxton Morgan, Caydin Perkins, Zachary Curtsinger, Hayley Curtsinger, and Colton Curtsinger; two sisters, Jean Bell and Mary Whitlock and one sister-in-law, Opal Nelson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Hershel Nelson and Keith Nelson, four brothers and two sisters: Willard Nelson, Howard Thomas Nelson, Charles Leonard Nelson, Omer Lee Nelson, Stella Underwood, and Elizabeth Burchett.
