Frances Newton of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Willie Matt Johns and Mary Eliza Stubbs Johns, was born July 25, 1922 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 7:30 A.M., Sunday, August 31, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age: 92 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and the Cafeteria at Fruit of the Loom. She united in marriage to Vernon Newton August 23, 1943. He preceded her in death November 23, 1969. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Shirley Newton and Keith and Kathy Newton of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Cara Stewart and husband, Gene Ray of Owenton, Lindsay Hines and Jessica Newton of Campbellsville; Jennifer Brashear and husband, Jared of Bowling Green and Kyle Newton and wife, Megan of Greensburg; six great-grandchildren: Clayton Stewart, Bailey Stewart, Griffin Hines, Brody Hines, Hadley Brashear and John Hagan Newton; one sister, Evelyn Smith and husband, Johnnie of Valley Station; two sisters-in-law: Anna Lee Johns of Campbellsville and Betty Baker and husband Tony of Louisville, one brother-in-law, Lynwood Newton and wife Juanita of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Garnett Johns, Tommy Johns and Mildred Toohey. VISITATION: 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
