Elzie Jones

Elzie ?Zeb? Jones of Campbellsville, son of the late Oscar Jones and Ada Turner Jones was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky April 16, 1921. He died at 10:53 A.M., Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Elizabethtown. Age: 92He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.He retired from Carnation Milk Company after many years as a driver.He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country honorably in the United States Army in India and Asia.He united in marriage to Maxine Simpson on October 16, 1942.Besides his wife, Maxine Jones of Campbellsville, he is survived by three daughters and two sons: Ruth Gray of Campbellsville, Carol Cox and husband, Jerry of Mannsville, Vivian Sullivan and husband, David of Mt. Washington, Jimmy Jones and wife, Judy of Campbellsville and Mike Jones and wife, Kay of Louisville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Mae Stubbs of Burlington, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Gray; two great-grandsons: Gerald Douglas Cox III and Christopher David Sexton; one son-in-law, Junior Gray and two brothers: Elmer Jones and Frank Jones and a sister in infancy, Jeanette Jones.
