Barbara Dabney of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Everett Allen and Lena Mae Phillips Allen Douglas was born November 23, 1941 in Elkhorn, Taylor County, Kentucky.She died at 1:50 P.M., Monday, June 9, 2014, in Campbellsville. Age: 72She professed faith in Christ and was an active member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. She had taught Sunday School for some 49 years.She was a graduate of Campbellsville College with a degree in psychology and sociology and a minor in education and attained a master?s degree from Western Kentucky University in Education with an emphasis in Counseling.She was employed with Adanta for ten years. She and Irene Melton formed the Caregivers Support Group and she was a founder and Grand Marm of the Campbellsville Red Hatters ?Hattitude? Club.She was named CKNJ?s Woman of the Year in 2010.She united in marriage to Donald Dabney February 10, 1962.Besides her husband, Donald Dabney of Campbellsville, she is survived by one daughter, Kristi Dabney Peterson and one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Allen Dabney and Susan Dabney of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Kendall Blair Peterson, Trey Peterson, Donald Manis Dabney, Paige Dabney and Peyton Hershel Dabney; one niece, Missy Allen and her daughter, Alicia of Columbus, Ohio; Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Reed Wilson of Campbellsville; chosen family, Mildred (Mrs. George) Willson of Campbellsville, several cousins and many other relatives and friends.She was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Keith Allen and her grandparents, Jim and Maggie Allen and Robert and Mary Phillips.
